Tameside Smart Saver Scheme

If you live in Tameside and your child moved into Year 7 in September 2016 then they are eligible for a Tameside Smart Saver Account.

In July 2016, you will have received a letter from Tameside Council which contained a £10 voucher to kick start your child’s savings account with Cash Box Credit Union.

What you need to do to:

  • Go with your child to a Cash Box Credit Union branch or any Tameside Library
  • You must take the letter, your child’s birth certificate or passport together with proof of your own identity such as your passport or driving licence
  • You can either set up a new account for your child and deposit the £10 voucher or add the voucher to your child’s existing Cash Box account if they already have one
  • You can also complete a standing order form to start regular payments to your child’s account if you wish.

Terms & Conditions

By providing the voucher to Cash Box both you and your child are agreeing for Cash Box to share our information with Tameside Council for the purpose of validation checks to prevent fraudulent use.

The voucher can only be redeemed as a £10 credit on a Cash Box Credit Union Smart Saver account for the named child

Only one voucher can be used per account.

The scheme applies to children who moved into Year in September 2016 and are resident within Tameside.
